“The Old” has an undeniable importance in the lives of most of us. A lace embroidered garment that has been hiding in our mother’s dowerchest, an antique fob-chained pocket watch that was left to us from our grandfather or an automobile that we view when watching a movie from the last century are all nostalgic objects that would make us smile one way or the other.
An antique cuckoo wall clock that tells us what the time is, with both a visual and an audial style; a light-tubed radio that once was the only entertainment we had, from which we listened to “serials to be continued” every day, a wooden coffee-table with pearl-inlaid that reflects all the artistry of the master who created it, the marble basin that is placed in an old village hammam, the silk loin cloths that we now can hardly touch let alone use, the copper charcoal-burner that gives a different atmosphere to the town house that it sits other than beingfunctional, a gorgious grammaphone on which records long forgetten are played...We can lengthen the list to many more; one or the other refreshes our memories by making us laugh or think of old days that passed bye.
Taking into consideration all o the above, we, as the “ANTIKAN.COM” team, tried to unite the collectors and the antique dealers who share such feelings, by opening this website into your usage. The aim here is to bring the owners of such articles and tne ones who are eager to add pieces of antique value to their belongings, face to face in the virtual platform we created. Other than this, the suppliers having a distinctive clients portfolio, along with the buyers enlarging their collection of valuables, are targeted.
After being a part of our group by signing in for membership to our website, neither for exibiting pieces nor for purchasing any of those, any price is paid. Also the antique and auction companies that are not registered to the “Antiquarians List”, may add their contact details to our website without any fees to be taken. A point, that should be worthy of notice by the dealers, is that the pieces added should be put in the right categories stated below. This will ease the search of special pieces that our viewers are interested in. If a certain antique you want to add to the site is not included in any of the categories listed, we can always be reached through the “contact form” down below, to open up new categories for the different pieces to arrive.
